Join the Layton Wild Bird Center, Saturday's for a free nature/ bird walk. We leave from the Layton Wild Bird Center at 10 a.m. in winter and 8 a.m., spring/summer (unless posted otherwise).

Our bird walks are a great family activity and a wonderful way to introduce children to the world of nature. Expert birder and Division of Wildlife Resources volunteer Naturalist, Bill Fenimore leads the bird walk.

The cost of the nature/bird walks is enthusiasm. We take care of the rest. If we do go somewhere that an entrance fee is charged, we pay all entrance fees. You are the Wild Bird Center's guest.

Go to the Store Events page and click on any highlighted date to read the scheduled activity with appropriate details. We look forward to seeing you on a field trip with us.

LOCATIONS FOR OUR FUTURE BIRDWALKS

October 29th at 7 p.m. Bird Identification 101 Workshop

Before you go on a Bird Walk, take a class in Birding 101 with the author of the Backyard Birds of Utah, Bill Fenimore.

Bill Fenimore will make a presentation on the "How To" of bird identification. Once you complete this class you will find it easy to navigate through a field guide. Your satisfaction and confidence will soar, as you put to use the tips and techniques that Bill presents. House Finches, Juncos, White-crowned Sparrows and their allies will all have names that you can identify, rather than seeing an "LBJ" (little brown job).

Signed copies of the Backyard Birds of Utah, written by author and class presenter, Bill Fenimore will be available for purchase for $10.00 (includes tax).

The Birding Identification 101 Workshop is hosted by the Great Salt Lake Audubon chapter. The presentation will take place at the Sugar House Garden Center in Sugar House Park. Access the parking lot off 2100 South and 1650 East (West of Highland High School).
