Hopper feeders allow seed to be kept dry and away from the wind, while storing larger amounts of seed than tube feeders. They also accommodate both large and small birds and can hold nuts as well as seeds.

Tray feeders are great for in the tree, on a shepherds staff, or on the ground. Birds love a tray. They pick what they want and have a clear view of any approaching danger. Offering easy access to food for squirrels helps discourage them from bird feeders. Once they learn food is there and easy to get to, they go there first. Fun to watch, too.
