Hummingbirds!

Wow! Can you belive all the hummingbirds this summer? I look forward every fall to watching them compete in their aerial battles over who gets to eat at what feeder. That is why i hang multiple feeders on different sides of the house. This way they can't dominate all of the feeders at once and i have an opportunity to watch from the different rooms i am in. Remember that feeding hummingbirds does not keep them from migrating and i generally leave my feeders up for about two weeks after i see my last one. I normally see my last hummingbirds into October which makes for a nice long season. Even though it has been cool this summer remember to clean out your feeders every three to five days to keep mold from forming which is harmful to the birds. The nectar recipe is 4 parts boiling water to one part sugar. If you don't want the hassle of making your own we carry hummingbird sugar that dissolves in cool water so you don't have to boil. For the ultimate ease try pre-made hummingbird nectar that you just open and pour. How easy is that? Hopefully you will enjoy your hummingbirds as much as i do!
