Meet the Owner

Langford, BC - Westshore residents and bird enthusiasts now have a new place to migrate for all of their wild birding supplies.  After 25 years in the Navy, Chris Audet, a recently retired Chief Petty Officer opened a Wild Bird Center® store, a unique retailer specializing in a wide range of backyard birding products.  The opening reflects the growing trend of bird watchers nationwide.

According to Bird Studies Canada, wildlife watching has become one of the fastest growing hobbies with more than 47 million of people in North America participating in bird watching exclusively. And the greatest majority does so in their own backyards!  Approximately 54 million of North Americans brought food to birds and other wildlife around their homes.

Chris is the owner and operator of the Langford store, and self-proclaimed bird enthusiasts, who recognize the potential of this market.  Chris states, "We offer customers an extensive line of bird seed with exclusive seed blends as well as an array of products to help them attract more varieties of birds."  "Our backyards are an extension of our home and we want to help customers enjoy a better backyard birding experience."

Chris is thrilled about the opportunity to turn his passion of backyard birding, education, and conservation into a business venture.

The Wild Bird Center acts as a "one-stop-shop" for all levels of birders, from casual to serious bird watchers.  The store carries more than a dozen seed types, bird feeders, nest boxes, birdbaths, binoculars, and creative gifts such as garden accessories, CDs, stationary, nature books and decorative novelty items.  The Wild Bird Center holds an exclusive line of MoBi Mesh feeders, the goldfinch-only feeder and the convertible bird- house design.

"Our birdseed and exclusive seed blends are field-tested and proven to attract an array of birds," notes Chris Audet.  He continues, "By combining our premium products with a strong avian knowledge, we are able to offer customers unparalleled service and the help they need to experience backyard birding as never before."

The Wild Bird Center store is located in Langford.  The nearest Wild Bird Center is located in Silverdale, Washington State, about 52 Km west of Seattle.
