Feeder Cleaning
Now that Fall has arrived it is the perfect time to clean your feeders. We recommend cleaning the feeder with vinegar and water and a capfull of bleach. We soak the feeder in a bucket for about a half hour. We also use a brush to get the caked on mess off. This combination will kill any bacteria and mold that might be growing on the feeder. Rinse the feeder. Allow the feeder to dry and fill with new seed and watch the birds flock to the clean feeder.
Hummingbird Feeding
Clean your hummingbird feeder each time you refill the feeder. Running the feeder under hot water will clean any sugar build up on the feeder. Use a brush to clean the hard to reach areas. While the weather is still cool you can keep the nectar in the feeder for about a week. But when the weather becomes hot in the summer, clean and refill the feeder every few days. Clean feeder and fresh nectar make happy hummers.
