Meet the Owner

The Wild Bird Center in Denver was opened in 1994 by owner Candace Stuart who wanted to provide a source for people interested in nature, birds and the environment to exchange stories, information and fun. After a long 20 year career of travel and deadlines working as a management consultant, Candace looked for a business that would involve lots of people contact with those who share a love for birds, the outdoors and our responsibility as stewards for the lives around us.

Her mission: To provide a relaxing, entertaining, and life-refreshing experience for those living and working in the city, as well as for those lucky enough to enjoy mountain or woodland environments.

Candace and her staff have years of experience with bird behaviors, likes and dislikes and the products and food to use to attract the birds we want to see at our feeders.
