Storing nuts for fall

Written by Candace Stuart of Wild Bird Center

One of our customers took his car in for a tune-up.

The service guy brought the customer a small box full of peanuts in the shell, slighlty blackened.   "You should notice a difference in the car's performance now."  He found them in the air filter housing in his car!

Some busy squirrel is not going to be happy that his stash is missing.

Lots of tree trimming in spring and fall can disrupt the special storage places for food, and the squirrels will find a place they think they can rely on for the winter.  Car running rough? Check the air filter housing.
