MIGRANTS

Seems all the migrants are coming  through Denver late this year (see hummingbird blog from August).  Just got our first reports in the Denver area of yellow warblers in the D.U. area, and lesser goldfinch south of the Stapleton Town Center.

Look for yellow, Wilson's, McGilvery warblers...blackheaded grosbeak,  Bullock's Orioles, Swainson's hawks. mourning doves should be gone by end of September.

Be sure to keep your hummingbird feeder out and fresh through September in Denver, and mid-October in Parker, Franktown, and Elizabeth.  Rule of thumb is to keep feeders up at least one week after you are sure you've seed the last hummingbird.

Keep those bird baths full and fresh!  Migrants will stop for water along their route and you can get some great sightings just out your window.
