The mission of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute is to create passion for and knowledge of the natural world in the hearts and minds of children by inspiring and guiding the study of nature in our schools and communities. RTPI accomplishes its mission through nature education programs for teachers, its family-based My Place program, publications, and web-based resources such as its Electronic Naturalist, www.enaturalist.org. RTPI's Jamestown, NY headquarters houses the life work of America's great 20th century naturalist, Roger Tory Peterson.
