Glen Echo, Maryland--February 14, 2011 --  George Petrides, Sr., founder and chairman of the Wild Bird Centers of America, Inc., has received a Citizen Award for Exceptional Service by the U. S. In a letter announcing his award, the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, thanked Petrides for helping the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service forge new partnerships, for giving generously of his time, talents, and insights to make national wildlife refuges more birder-friendly while helping birders to better understand the roles of national wildlife refuges.
